The Fabulist congratulates artist Roger Leege for winning the 2022 Utopia Award in the “Utopian Art” category.
Leege’s gallery “Erewhon and Other Strange Utopias,” published in The Fabulist in April 2021, uses collage and transformation to transpose mundane imagery into exotic recontextualizations. Each image is a strange and provocative window into the subconscious, full of desire and worldly juxtapositions with nature, fantasy, technology, and built environments.
The Utopia Awards are produced by Android Press as part of their new CliFiCon conference on climate fiction, art, science and education.
